we went to this restaurant called central.it has a very taiwanese concept.we tried this appetizer called 'chuan chuan' sold only at the entrance.the 'chuan chuan' are like sticks of different finger food dip in soup that gives it flavour.the sticks of finger food are like fishballs, sotongs, toufu, sausgaes and bittergourd.it has two pot of soup.one soup is spicy and the other is not.the sticks are also served with four sauces;peanut, chilli, wasabi and plum sauce.the sauce i love most is peanut.i know its like so weird that fishballs with peanut.but after i tried it's such a divine combination.
the 'chuan chuan' thing is a little too exx.like one stick cost $1.80 and 3 sticks cost 5bucks.but i think its worth for the first try not the subsequents one.the finger food itself is just average, its just that it has a creative idea of the food presentation itself.
we also had a whole loads of other food.something praisable is the tofu.it ROCKS.its given a name called thousand layer toufu.it has layers of cold tofu sandwiching the pork floss in between.tasty, yummy and cold. you should really try it.i did not expect it to be a cold toufu but i guess thats what that makes it special and thumbs up.they also called some noodles dish 'dan dan' which i dont really get it.the rest were also great but not much of a unique.
but i really must say that the presentation of food in that restaurant is really good.they even have like fried rice in vintage claypots.i would give 4stars for presentation and 3 and a half for taste.but overall i thinks it's a decent meal.look below at the shots i took on how their food are served.
central french toast with butter and honey
peanut butter toast with evaporated milk
spare ribs with 'dan dan' noodle
fried rice with salted egg yolk and shrimp
xo sefood fried rice
rice rolls
thousand layer toufu.HOT pick
the jolly good meal i had :)
